Do you install engineered oak flooring in Cape Town?

Yes. Engineered oak flooring is our main interior product. We supply and install from the Ottery workshop across Cape Town — Constantia, Claremont, Tokai, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Durbanville and the City — then out to Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. What is the difference between engineered oak and oak laminate?

Engineered oak has a real oak wear layer on a cross-ply core. It looks and feels like timber and can often be refinished. Oak laminate is a high-resolution oak photograph on a dense board — more stable on some slabs, usually a lower ticket, still a premium finish when we specify the right wear class and underlay. We quote both. If the house has underfloor heating or big north-facing glass, we usually push engineered oak.
Do you do jobs in Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek?

Yes. Paarl is the far end of our regular radius. We already have published work in Franschhoek (Les Arts, La Petite Dauphine) and just outside Stellenbosch (Johannesdal 1207). Wine-farm guesthouses, estate homes and new-builds on the R45 and N1 are normal call-outs. Travel is built into the quote so you see it before we start.
How much does engineered oak flooring cost in Cape Town?

These are high-ticket floors. Price depends on the oak grade, plank width, finish (oiled or lacquered), square metres, subfloor prep and whether stairs and trims are in the same scope. Can you build a wooden deck as well as the indoor floors?

Yes. Indoor oak and outdoor decking are the same workshop. We design and install wooden decks — including oak and hardwood boards — with structure, stairs and balustrades. Hout Bay, Camps Bay and Franschhoek decks are a regular mix of salt, sun and wind, so we specify the timber and fixings for that exposure.

Do you install over underfloor heating?

Engineered oak is the product we use over water or electric underfloor heating when the system and the slab are suitable. Moisture readings and a manufacturer-approved install method sit on the quote. Solid oak is the wrong spec over most Cape heating systems. Tell us if heating is already in or planned.
Do you make wooden staircases to match the floor?

Yes. Solid wooden staircases, flat trims, open risers, L- and U-shapes, and outdoor flights are manufactured in Ottery and fitted with the floor so the grain and colour read as one job. Les Arts in Franschhoek and Kloof 145 both had stairs and floors from us.
How long does a typical install take?

A straightforward apartment or single-storey floor can be days, not weeks, once the boards are on site. A full house with stairs, or a new deck with structure, is scheduled after the measure. Estate access windows and wet trades ahead of us change the calendar. You get a start date on the written quote.
